On Thursday January 29th Stenberg College held it first Campus Life event of 2015! The theme was “Resolutions” and was aimed to help students start the year off on the right track.
Throughout the day students were encouraged to partake in some healthy snacks and take a moment to write down their New Year’s resolution. Students wrote down their resolutions on a leaf, which was then added to the ‘Resolution Tree’ – a board filled with fellow ‘Resolution Leaves’ from other students. The goal with writing down resolutions was to make them seem more real, as well as encourage students to put some thought in to it and perhaps make a resolution if they hadn’t already. By the end of the day the Resolution Tree was looking very full and all the healthy snacks had been enjoyed. Every student who filled out a leaf was entered to win one of two $100 Visa Gift Cards!

The event also featured guest speaker, Lucas Mattiello, whose presentations on how to “Reignite Your Inner Power and Manage Your Stress Effectively” was very well received by both students and staff. Lucas talked about the tools, techniques and strategies that can be used in everyday life to help manage the day to day stress and anxiety that life can bring. These tools will prove to be very useful to students as they navigate through a New Year, new challenges and new experiences.

Be sure to purchase your Candygrams at Reception this week and enter to win the Ultimate Valentine’s Day Date contest by answering the question: “Who is your Sweetheart?” Four local winners will be selected by random draw and will win a $100 dinner gift certificate, movie and concession passes for two and a box of chocolates!
