We are currently seeking a Curriculum Developer to join our growing team. This individual oversees the development, revision, and implementation of curriculum relevant to a specified portfolio of programs and acts as an advisor to content experts and college staff and faculty.
Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Curriculum Coordinator, updating, modifying, and maintaining existing in-class, online, and simulation-based programs, courses, and activities
  • Ensuring all curriculum development meets the quality and educational standards as defined by Stenberg College and other regulatory bodies
  • Developing and maintaining courses for in-class and online delivery according to instructional design best practices
  • Researching and evaluating curriculum materials, supplies, and equipment for acquisition
  • Researching new educational tools for instructional delivery for both in-class and online programs
  • Working with subject matter experts to identify and develop relevant course materials
  • Managing external development contracts and tracking budgets for new development
  • Orienting faculty to program and course content
  • Working as an advisor to other areas of the college in regards to curriculum-related questions – e.g. scheduling, prior learning assessments etc.
  • Completing minor PTIB or regulatory change reports as required
  • Attending conferences or regulatory meetings as a college representative – travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience or training
  • Adult Education Credential / Online Learning Certification / Project Management credential
  • Demonstrated experience in developing classroom-based or online curriculum rooted in adult learning best practices, including the development and alignment of learning objectives with assessments
  • Teaching or training experience with adult learners, ideally with some experience in an E-learning delivery environment

We currently have immediate openings for Online Instructors within our Dispensing Optician program! This program ensures that students gain a comprehensive education in the areas of eyeglass dispensing, contact lens fitting and automated refraction. Emphasis is placed on interpersonal communication, customer service and professional practice. This program prepares students to successfully complete the national licensing exam.
The successful candidate will be a Licensed Optician who is registered with their Provincial Regulatory Body. He or she must have at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in the field. Our Counselling Therapist Diploma program prepares students to support individuals, couples, families, and groups to overcome blocks to wellness and achieve personal goals. Students will obtain the skills necessary to create an environment conducive to therapeutic growth, explore a variety of counselling modalities, and empower clients to face diverse challenges.
Students will transform theoretical knowledge into practical skill through frequent role plays, simulation weeks, and supervised counselling practice with clients. They will also obtain the skills necessary to launch their own private counselling practice from the development of the initial business and brand plan, to building clientele and managing finances.

Desired Skills and Experience
For Faculty and Clinical Supervisor positions:

• Master’s level designation (Master Practitioner of Clinical Counselling (MPCC), Master Therapeutic Counsellor (MTC), or Master’s degree in Clinical Counselling is required.
• A minimum of eight years of clinical counselling experience including a minimum of three years at the Master’s level.

This program prepares students to meet the requirements to become registered with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists in Canada (ACCT) and the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA). Curriculum in this program corresponds to the competencies set by the Federation of Associations for Counselling Therapists in British Columbia (FACTBC), of which both ACCT and the CPCA are members of the task group who supported the creation of the competency profile for Counselling Therapists.

Stenberg College is currently seeking contract Classroom Instructors to teach in our CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Program!
This individual will be responsible for the instructional delivery of dynamic and engaging assigned courses of study by using appropriate teaching and learning techniques within the college’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage Stenberg College’s In Class/Onsite Program Faculty and share in the management of the Faculty Administrator on a daily/weekly basis;
• Evaluate the teaching and professional needs of faculty while implementing programs, services, and other resources to meet those needs (i.e. instructor audits/performance reviews, instructor check-in meetings, lunch and learn workshops, etc.);
• Stay current on effective teaching and learning practices (foster these within the faculty and develop a plan for integrating them into classroom/online instructional activities);
• Keep faculty updated about the campus/online resources available to assist students in achieving success and satisfaction;
• Create resources and develop materials required for the effective delivery of curriculum;
• Work with faculty and the student services staff to develop appropriate early intervention practices for students who are in crisis, underprepared, underperforming, have behavioral concerns, have specialized learning needs, and/or are otherwise considered at risk;
• Partner with student services/program advising staff to ensure effective communication to faculty regarding students with specialized learning needs;
• Liaise with the program development team to ensure smooth implementation;

Qualifications

• Provincial Instructor Diploma Program or a degree specialized in Adult Education
• A minimum of three years of professional experience in leading or working in a faculty development, teacher training, and/or instructional development role within Higher Education is required (preferably including administrative and supervisory responsibilities)
• 2+ years’ experience teaching adult learners (healthcare or human services teaching is preferred)
• Working knowledge of Moodle and specialized training/education in Educational Technologies
• Expertise in theory and best practices in assessment of student learning outcomes in academic programs in higher education
