Jeremy Sabell


With over 16 years of experience in the education field and over ten years working for Stenberg College, Jeremy is well versed in all aspects of private education. It is his sincere belief that the team at Stenberg are here because they enjoy working together toward the common goal of helping people enrich their lives through higher education. He finds his own role both fulfilling and challenging as Stenberg continuously strives to improve their operation in order to keep current with the ever-changing education environment. His most memorable moment at Stenberg College was witnessing the first Student of the Year receive her tuition reimbursement, an annual event that makes him proud to work for an institution that places students first.

Karm Aujla

Director of Admissions

Karm is the Director of Admissions at Stenberg. She has been with Stenberg since 1996. Karm enjoys guiding and supporting students in reaching their career goals, especially those who are returning to school after a long time out of the academic environment. Her stay at Stenberg can be accredited partially to her admiration of the passion and drive of the Stenberg team and their support of students to reach success. Karm’s most memorable moment, like other staff members, is watching her students walk across the stage at graduation and seeing the pride in their families’ faces.

Jacquie Stene Murphy

Director of Education

An experienced educator and HR professional who is skilled in leadership development, people management and empowerment, performance and project management, developing career path opportunities, training / facilitation / coaching / mentoring, and event and volunteer management. Jacquie has expertise in overseeing operations of learning environments (in-class, online and combined delivery), as well as designing and delivering programs, course, workshops, employee/student orientations and wellness programs. Jacquie joined the Stenberg team in 2003. She feels people are empowered through education, and is proud to be part of an organization that strives to provide students with the tools they need to be successful after graduation. Jacquie is a member of the BC HRMA.

Gary Karbar

Director of Operations

Gary has been working in the Post-Secondary education sector for over a decade now and has an extensive background in Human Resources and Operations. A graduate from Simon Fraser University’s Business Administration program, Gary believes education is a life-long learning process that adds immense value to both the individual and society. In his spare time, Gary enjoys snowboarding during the winter months and golfing during the summer. His most memorable moments working for Stenberg College is partaking in the graduation ceremonies, where students’ hard work is realized.

Wendy Turnbull

Director of Industry Relations

Wendy has been with Stenberg for over 12 years. With education and front-line experience in health care as a Health Unit Coordinator, she is particularly effective in relating to multiple stakeholders. She places a large value on quality education and takes great satisfaction in working with Stenberg’s industry partners to develop programs that directly meet and exceed their needs. Wendy’s most memorable moment was watching the first group of Hospital Support Specialists graduate and become successfully employed.


Jennifer Barclay

Financial Aid Officer

Jennifer Barclay holds a Legal Secretary Diploma as well as an Office Administrative Certificate. As a Financial Aid Officer, Jennifer’s primary role is to assist students in planning financially for their post-secondary education.

Jackie Styre

Financial Aid Officer

As a Financial Aid Officer Jackie Styre assists Stenberg students with Canada Student Loan applications, Student Line of Credit paperwork, and payment plans. Jackie enjoys seeing the transformation of students and the amount of confidence they have at the end of their programs.

Chelsea Faber

Financial Aid Officer

Chelsea has been with Stenberg since 2011. As a Financial Aid Officer, Chelsea assists students with their financial accounts, and helps them navigate the student loan and repayment process.

Haeley Horton

Program Advisor

Haeley is a graduate of Stenberg’s Medical Lab Assistant program, and the 2015 winner of the Student of the Year award. It was during her time at Stenberg that Haeley realized how each step in a persons attempt to return to school is crucial to whether or not they proceed. It is Haeley’s hope that her own positive experiences as a student can help motivate and guide people to further their education now that she is a Program Advisor. Although she is new to Stenberg, Haeley is excited and passionate about helping people find and begin their journey here.

Jandy Sertic

Program Advisor

Jandy finds working in the education sector highly rewarding. In particular, she enjoys guiding mature students through the process of going back to school and seeing their career potential realized. Her fondest moments working at Stenberg College are during the graduation ceremonies, where students’ hard work is recognized. She is proud to work for a school that is committed to providing quality education and support services to their students.

Natasha Howarth

Program Advisor

Natasha’s career truly has come full circle as she is back in the school where she attended – this time as a staff member. She was a successful student in the NUC program over 11 years ago and was the first Stenberg student to be hired by Provincial Health at the BC Cancer Agency. Natasha helps guide and inform prospective students to find and fulfill their own career aspirations. Her ten plus years of experience in the health care industry make her a natural fit to advise students, as she is very familiar with the roles that Stenberg students intend to fill.

Sunny Gill

Program Advisor

Sunny is a Program Advisor at Stenberg. A Stenberg alumna, Sunny enjoys meeting prospective students who are motivated to continue their education. She meets with applicants to help them choose the right program for them, set up entrance testing, interviews, and any relevant upgrading they might need. Sunny is a people person who loves connecting with students and helping them achieve their professional and personal goals.

Christine Douglas

Program Registrar

Christine is the Program Registrar Team Lead. A Stenberg employee since 2013, Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University. As a Registrar, Christine works with prospective students as they complete the application and enrolment process, and loves that her job allows her to help people get a little bit closer to their goals and dream careers.

Mandy Ghuman

Program Registrar

Mandy is a Stenberg Program Registrar. Prior to joining Stenberg, she worked in the financial industry for over eight years. As a Registrar, Mandy is the point of first contact for prospective RDPN/CAT-D students. She also conducts information sessions, and provides feedback to each individual applicant to keep them on track during the application process. Mandy’s commitment to Stenberg students and to her profession as a Registrar begins with truly wanting to help students fulfill their lifelong career aspirations.

Sonia Rai

Program Registrar

Sonia is a Program Registrar for Stenberg and oversees admissions for the Pharmacy Technician and Medical Laboratory Assistant programs. She is committed to delivering the best to our students by providing them with whatever resources they need to follow their dreams and launch their new careers.

Sabina Hayre

Program Registrar

Sabina is a Program Registrar and oversees admissions for the Business Accountant and Health Care Assistant programs. With 5 years of financial advising experience prior to Stenberg, she provides a unique perspective while assisting students with their program inquiries, application, and enrollment process.


Trishna Nazareth

Manager of Education Delivery – Campus Programs

Trishna Nazareth is Stenberg’s Manager of Education Delivery for our in-class programs. A graduate of New Earth College, Trishna holds a Doctorate of Natural Medicine, as well as a Provincial Instructor’s Diploma. At Stenberg Trishna is responsible for managing and facilitating faculty professional development for those teaching within Stenberg College’s in class/onsite programs in order to assist the College to meet its core strategic objectives of ensuring student learning and success as well as fostering a highly engaged, diverse and distinguished faculty. She is committed to building strong relationships with faculty and students in order to make teaching and learning central to educational excellence.

Tessa MacKinnon

Manager of Education Development

Tessa has a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from UBC as well as a Technical Writing certificate from SFU, a Print Futures Diploma from Douglas College and is currently completing her Provincial Instructor Diploma from VCC. She loves working at Stenberg because no two days are ever the same! She says, “working in the Education Industry is like putting a puzzle together every day, and I love that challenge.” Tessa hopes to continue her professional development in instructional design, and continually increase the quality of the educational product that Stenberg offers. In her spare time she likes to be active and outside as much as possible – hiking, running, or just exploring Burnaby mountain, which happens to be her backyard!

Lynn Cook

Manager of Education Delivery – Combined Delivery Programs

Lynn Cook is the Manager of Education Development at Stenberg College. She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia and holds a Diploma in Project Management. Lynn is also a Certified Training Professional. She has over 30 years’ experience in management, curriculum design and facilitation, coaching and management development. At Stenberg, Lynn manages a team of curriculum developers, coordinators and Subject Matter Experts to ensure our students are successful. She enjoys being part of a team of experts who impact the education of our Stenberg students, and feels that by understanding different learning styles, Stenberg creates active, collaborative learning environments for students.

Coreen McLaren

Manager of Academics

Coreen has been a member of the administration team at Stenberg College since June 2007. She currently holds a diploma in Business Administration, diploma in Business Leadership & management, an Associates in Leadership Coaching and is currently pursuing her Project Management Certification. She loves working with the Staff and Faculty at Stenberg to help students achieve their dreams. As a life-long learner, Coreen loves being a part of their journey in their new life and career.

Lisa Brown

Student Success Coordinator – Campus Programs

Lisa Brown provides direct support to students in our campus programs. Lisa has years of experience as a Life Coach and Counsellor and brings compassion, critical thinking, and teamwork to Stenberg. She is a graduate of the Professional Counsellor Diploma Program at Rhodes Wellness College and is a member of good standing with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA) since 2009. Lisa recently achieved her Master Practitioner Counselling Psychology with the CPCA.

Emma Engen

Student Success Coordinator – Distance programs

Emma Engen is the Student Success Coordinator for students enrolled in online or combined delivery programs. A Stenberg staffer since 2015, Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria, where she also worked in student support. Emma’s favourite thing about her position is the opportunity to see students build confidence in themselves and succeed in their chosen career paths.

Darlene Marion

Career Strategies Manager

Darlene Marion is a graduate of Simon Fraser University, and has worked in the education field for over 16 years, encouraging and supporting staff and students in all areas of their growth. As a Career Strategies facilitator Darlene provides educational and enjoyable programming within the college setting that promotes engaging learning opportunities for students with interview preparation, how to network, create resumes and cover letters.

Jennifer Martin

ESL Instructor

Jennifer has a Bachelor of Applied Arts and a TESOL Diploma. She has worked in adult education for over 20 years. She is a supporter of life-long learning and enjoys meeting so many interesting people. She considers it an honor to be with them for part of their journey as they make concrete and positive changes in their lives. She enjoys the positive work environment at Stenberg College and appreciates the great team of caring professionals.

Susan Mihalic

Alumni Services Coordinator

Susan Mihalic is an Alumni Services Coordinator. A graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Douglas College, Susan holds a Diploma in Career Development, as well as a Diploma of Public Relations. Susan has 8 years of experience as an Employment Services Facilitator and has taught job search and career exploration programs to groups of diverse job seekers. Her primary responsibility at Stenberg is to help graduates find employment and launch their new careers.


Dan Kibke

IT & Facilities Manager

Dan brings over 13 years of experience providing network and desktop support in the education sector. He is trained in audio engineering, video production and multi-media. Beyond providing daily support to instructors and administrators, he also provides technical support for Stenberg’s Online program. In his spare time he is a sound manipulator interested in improvisation, electronics, audio, video, bio-feedback systems, synthesis, field recording photocells and contact microphones. In addition to sound art he is an ardent photographer and urban explorer with an inclination towards industrial ruins.

Nicholas Cherney

IT & Facilities Specialist

Nicholas Cherney is Stenberg’s IT & Facilities Specialist. A Stenberg staffer since 2011, Nick’s primary role is to provide front line technical support for students and staff members. Nick finds it extremely rewarding to be able to facilitate and support our students on their way to becoming a positive influence in the lives of the many patients, clients and students that they will help in their careers. His most memorable moment at Stenberg was attending the graduation of his wife, Dani, from Stenberg’s own Therapeutic Recreation program.

Stephanie Juy

Human Resources Coordinator

Stephanie Juy is a passionate HR Professional who has worked in the Education and Health Care fields for years. Her keen interest in HR stems back from when she was pursuing her Bachelors of Business Administration/HR and minor in Psychology at Simon Fraser University. She is currently a member of BCHRMA who has completed her National Knowledge Exam and is now working towards her CHRP status. At Stenberg, she enjoys working with passionate professionals whom genuinely care about their staff and students. In the next five years, she hopes to have obtained her CHRP and further her career in HR. Stephanie firmly believes in continuous professional and personal development and enjoys volunteering, painting and rock climbing in her spare time.

Inder Gill


Inder Gill oversees the full-cycle recruitment and selection process for faculty and staff. He has extensive experience as a recruiter and has been able to work with a variety of clients in the retail, hospitality, and healthcare industries. Inder holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and completed a Certificate in Human Resources Management as well (with a future goal of attaining his CHRP). Having a strong passion for recruiting and human resources as a whole, Inder aspires to excel in the HR field while upholding Stenberg College’s status as an industry leader. He takes much pride in Stenberg’s excellent reputation and their commitment to higher education.

Practice Education

Jag Tak

Practice Education Manager

Jag is the Practice Education Faculty and Student Manager and comes from a background of nursing, monitoring students and teaching classes. He’s able to blend the unique set of skills from 15 years of nursing experience, 5+ yrs of instructing and education in Business Management into his role as PE Manager. Jag himself is pursuing his Business Management Degree and has completed the Foundations of Exceptional Teaching Level 3 certificate, which was delivered by Stenberg College. He notes that Stenberg has given him the opportunities for professional development in an environment that aligns with his values and ethics. His fondest Stenberg moments are watching his students walk across the stage during graduation and beginning the next chapter of their lives.

Jenny Bernardo

Practice Education Coordinator

Jenny Bernardo is Stenberg’s Practice Education Coordinator. A Stenberg employee since 2012, Jenny holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Trinity Western University. Her primary responsibility is to oversee and support Practice Education faculty and students and all PE student-related concerns/issues. Jenny cares deeply about our students and their success and will always strive to go to help them achieve their goals.

Susanne Hendrickson

Manager of Industry Relations

Susanne Hendrickson is Stenberg’s Manager of Industry Relations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Regina, along with a Certificate in Continuing Education, a Certificate in Administration, and a Certificate of Medical Laboratory Technology. Susanne supervises and supports Stenberg’s student placement coordinators in identifying, securing and coordinating placements out in the industry to ensure all of our students receive a valuable learning opportunity.
