Having personally experienced the entire registration process in Canada, she knows exactly how challenging it can be, but that it can be achieved with determination and hard work. As the Manager and a key faculty member of Stenberg College’s Post-Graduate Diploma in Canadian Nursing, she feels blessed to have the opportunity to help guide and support IENs to achieve their goals.
Harpreet Dhatt Brar, RN, MSN, PhD, is an internationally educated nurse (IEN) with a wealth of international education and experience. She received her bachelor’s degree from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India and became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2008. In 2011 she graduated from Adesh University with a master’s degree in Medical Surgical Nursing (Nursing Education). In 2016, she earned her Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Education from the Himalayan University. She worked as a Nursing Educator for over 5 years in various nursing schools and colleges in India. In 2018, she completed an IEN re-entry program in Canada with distinction (highest grades) and became an RN in Canada.
In addition to her responsibilities as an instructor and curriculum developer at Stenberg College, Harpreet is an RN in the emergency department at Surrey Memorial Hospital in British Columbia, Canada.
